September 2026 is officially going to be a blockbuster month for smartphone lovers, with at least 16 to 17 major devices hitting the market. From the much-awaited return of budget 4G smartphones to premium flagship foldable devices, this month is packed with major tech upgrades.
Budget Smartphones (Under ₹25,000)
The definition of budget phones has shifted to the ₹25,000 mark, and interestingly, 4G smartphones are making a solid comeback.
- Redmi 17 Series: Launching on September 5th, this series will feature both 4G and 5G models. Powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, these phones promise a big battery, excellent charging speeds, and a great display.
- Vivo T5: Expected in the second week of September, this device focuses on endurance with a massive battery paired with 44W fast charging. It will likely feature a minimal 1 or 2 camera setup.
- OnePlus 4G Phone: After strictly focusing on 5G devices for the last two years, OnePlus is finally bringing a new 4G smartphone to the market this month.
Mid-Range Smartphones (₹25,000 - ₹40,000)
- Infinix Hot 70 Pro: Launching in the first week of September, this phone brings the Dimensity 7100 processor, a 6000mAh battery, and an IP68 rating. The main highlights are its 50MP primary sensor and a unique 'Active Matrix' extra display on the back.
- Redmi Note 17 Pro Series: Powered by the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, Redmi is dropping the telephoto lens for the Pro series this year. However, it compensates with a 50MP primary lens, a 200MP secondary camera, and a stunning 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display.
- Realme P4s: Falling in the ₹30,000 - ₹35,000 bracket, this absolute value-for-money phone packs a Dimensity 7400 chipset and a large 1.5K OLED display.
Upper Mid-Range Smartphones (₹35,000 - ₹75,000)
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE: Expected to be priced around ₹60,000 - ₹65,000, Samsung's Fan Edition is arriving with a 3nm Exynos 2500 chipset. The camera setup includes a 50MP primary, 12MP ultrawide, and an 8MP telephoto sensor, alongside a 12MP front shooter. It is backed by a 4900mAh battery.
Premium & Flagship Smartphones
- Apple iPhone 18 Series: Apple is skipping the base model this year. The lineup will feature the iPhone 18 Pro (6.3" OLED ProMotion) and 18 Pro Max (6.9" OLED) powered by the A20 Pro chip with a variable aperture camera. The biggest surprise is the iPhone Fold (or Ultra), featuring a 5.5" cover display, a 7.6-7.8" main display, an A20 chip, and a Titanium hinge.
- Xiaomi 18 Pro & Pro Max: Launching in China on September 28th, these will be the first phones to feature the brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 and 8 Gen 6 Pro chipsets. Expect massive 7000mAh to 8500mAh batteries and 6.3" to 6.9" LTPO AMOLED displays. They will arrive in India around November-December. Xiaomi is also launching a wider form-factor foldable, the Mix Fold 5 (or Fold 18).
- Vivo X500 Series & Oppo Find X10 Series: Both series will feature the 2nm MediaTek Dimensity 9600 chipset. The Oppo Find X10 and X10 Pro will boast 1.5K and 2K displays, up to three 200MP cameras, and massive 8000mAh batteries. Oppo's India launch is slated around Diwali.
- OnePlus 16 & iQOO 16: Launching in China with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (2nm) chipset. The OnePlus 16 boasts a 9000mAh battery with 100-120W wired and 50W wireless charging (unlikely to launch in India). The iQOO 16 brings an 8500mAh battery and 50-55MP cameras.
- Huawei & Honor: The Huawei Mate 90 series (Pro, Pro Max, RSE) and Honor's Magic 9 series are also launching in China this month. The Honor Magic 9 is expected to feature dual 200MP cameras and an insane 10000mAh battery.
From massive 10000mAh batteries to the very first Apple Fold, the tech industry is pushing major boundaries this month. While some of these ultra-premium Chinese variants might take a few months to reach the Indian market, the sheer volume of upgrades proves that late 2026 is an incredible time to upgrade your tech.
